We have a great team and process that we use for every project to help us all have a great understanding of what to expect as the project progresses.

My name is Lauren Geiger. I am the Owner and General Contractor for Bluegrass Business and Remodel, LLC. We focus on residential, new construction, home addition, and interior remodeling. We typically do all custom work. We do kitchens, bathrooms, living spaces from the ground up, or just an upgraded space.

I love to see people’s space transform to become their living space, the place where they invite others into their home and are proud of the space we’ve helped them build. Bringing the designs in our client’s heads to life has always been awesome for me.

Questions A Contractor Should Ask Customers before the project begins

It’s important to know answers to these questions for you and your contractor when planning a project. This helps the customer come up with an amount of what they should spend on the project too. If it’s their forever home you might spend more than if you just plan to live there for a couple of years.

Our Process

To start the process we enter the customers project information into our system to get the customer set up. We then schedule a time for Lauren, the General Contractor, and the customer to discuss inspiration photos, ideas and plans over the phone and to create an agreed upon estimate. Then we begin meeting for face to face meetings for design plans and to create a schedule for the project.

JobTread is the system we use to communicate with one another in addition to phone calls, text, and emails. This system is easily understood as Facebook for construction. Our clients can see their project come to life in this system, it houses our invoices and it’s also where we communicate a lot with our clients. It’s available for our clients to view at any time and houses our schedule of the project for everyone to view.

1. Initial Consultation

We’ll sit down to talk about your vision and ideas. Once we gather enough information, we’ll create an estimate. It’s free-there’s no client cost associated with this portion of the project.

2. Design

This is where we’ll meet in person to discuss the specifics. You get to choose all the materials, colors, and add-on customizations at this point. We’ll make some final selections and make sure you’re getting exactly what you envision.

3. Estimate

We calculate an estimate based on materials and building time.

4. Agreement

After the design stage is agreed upon, we’ll sign the final agreement to begin your project. This finalizes the details and we will work together on the schedule and next steps.

5. Construction

When construction begins our team will be available for any questions or concerns you may have during the process.

6. Inspection

We’ll have a separate professional inspection of all the technical aspects you might not know to look for. You’ll receive an official certificate guaranteeing the quality is up to code.

7. Warranty

We make sure to only work with brands that meet our quality standards. Most of our flooring and cabinetry comes with a limited lifetime warranty, but Bluegrass Builders and Remodeling does offer a 1 year warranty of their work performed from the date of completion.
